                                       CHINA TOURNAMENTS

THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM, BOYS AND GIRLS RECEIVE A START IN THE CHINA OPEN AMATEUR.

Not only do the team get a start, but we have managed to get a start for the 5 extra players that are joining the team to China. That's 11 players from the ABIJC tournament. I have a pretty good feeling that our players are going to give the China Amateur a scare.

Keep in touch.

Eleven players in total are traveling to China. This is going to be a big year at the Lion Lake Golf Club. We have 9 players from Korea that have just signed up, a team from Thailand............we are going to have a very full field and may have to expand.

The new course venue is sensational...........players are going to be blown away with the practice facilities........some of the best I have seen anywhere in the world.

Well.......what a weekend at the Australian Final at the Heritage Golf and Country Club.

Friday.................washed out !

Friday night's BBQ was canceled and we had to bring the food inside to the tables. It was going to be a casual night outside on the balcony, however it finished off inside with plenty of Titleist balls being given away at our annual " Golf trivia quiz ".

Saturday..........rain and hail up to 11.30am.....however we got the first group off at 12.00pm for 9 holes under trying conditions.

Saturday night was fantastic. We had Dave Miles from Titleist give a great talk and insight into the Titleist Ball Fitting Program ". Very informative and a great benefit for all those golfers looking for the edge in competition. Thank you Titleist....thank you David.

Queensland won the state trophy with Dee Dee Russell holding up the team with a sensational final round of 73. For a 14 year old off a 5 handicap and shooting a 73 on the Heritage golf course in conditions that were not easy was a super effort. Dee Dee would have to get the encouragement award for the weekend.

The Boys ABIJC Australian Champion was won by Jake Higginbottom, just 1 stroke ahead of Cameron Smith who in turn was just 1 stroke ahead of Sam Mitchell. It was tight. Sam had THE biggest smile, but not as big as the smile his Mum had. These 3 players were now on the team but the excitement had just begun.

The last spot on the team was open and 6 players were on the same score. A sudden death play off was on.......all 6 players went to the 1st tee. Ben Croft, Ben Rogers ( who won the 18 years ), Zac Morwood, Josh Shaw, Anthony Houston and Todd Sinnott. Never had we had 6 players for a play off to go to China. Todd played 2 great shots and a 5 foot put earned him a place on the Australian Team. Well done Todd.

WA super star Minjee Lee was the winning ABIJC Australian Girls Champion 2 shots ahead of Victorian Su-Hyun Oh. These 2 girls are really good.

I think we have the strongest team ever to go to China.....Australian Junior Golf is in good hands.

OK.......Now listen to this. The ABIJC Tournament has been asked by the China Amateur Golf Association to invite the 6 team, girls and boys, to invite them to play in the China Open Amateur......all expenses paid for. All they have to do is put in an entry fee and hire a caddy.............how good is that. Rooms and meals all paid for and it is being played the week after the ABIJC in Guangzhou. But it gets better......there are 6 others coming with the team and there is a chance they may also get a spot in the China Open Am also. I'm emailing the China Am Association tonight so I should have an answer tomorrow.

CHINA ABIJC TOURNAMENT

OK Players.........I'm back from China. What a visit. This new course we are going to play at is just magnificent. You need to have a look on www.lionlake.com to see how good it is. They are hoping to be holding a PGA tour event in the next few years so they want us to be a lead in to the PGA tournament. I have never seen a better golfing complex in the world.

If there is one year you want to play in the ABIJC, this is the year. The winning boy gets to play in the Australian Open and the Australian JBWere Masters. The winning girl gets to play in the Womens Australian Open and the Australian ANZ Masters. Can it get any better?

Check it out........ www.lionlake.com

Eleven Australian players commit to the ABIJC and the China Amateur Open.

This is going to be a super tournament. I just can't wait to see everyone at the tournament AFTER they play their first round.

On Tuesday, Aaron is going to be there to give a clinic on tour playing and all that goes with it. He is then going to give personal teaching and advise to any player that wishes to ask.

Aaron will then play the Am/Am on Wednesday and attend the Welcoming Dinner.

                                                            2011

                Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship

The Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship started in 2001 and has since then become one of the leading junior championships in the world.

It is the only junior tournament in the world that gives the boys and girls winner an exemption into the Mens and Womens Australian Open, the JBWere Masters and the Ladies ANZ Masters, Australia's premier Championship tournaments.

The ABIJC continues to give juniors the greatest opportunities to become the best players they can be, and to give them an experience in golf like they have never had before.
